La Carotte is a novelty card from the French joke manufacturer Le Diable Farceur and is an extremely rare survivor. We have just a few of these. The front instructs that the card should be opened slowly. First, a question mark is exposed then a carrot suddenly pops out. Their elastic bands have deteriorated and some are missing. These could easily be replaced. Dating from around 1920, the few we have are the only ones we've seen and all came together as unsold shop stock.
 
Condition: Very good, elastic bands missing or deteriorated, some minor wear.
